Or a retreat in the mountains. With almost infinite possibilities. But the slogan means much more. “Home of casual” also means: a dream setting that burns itself into the hearts. And a region that sets trends. Add to that this easy-going, alpine attitude to life that clings to the soles of hiking boots in summer and lets skis or snowboards glide so smoothly through the snow in winter. The year is 2015. A NASA spacecraft reaches the dwarf planet Ceres. FC Bayern Munich celebrates its 25th championship title. Saalbach – casual mountain experiences for young and old
At first glance, the recipe for these unique mountain experiences that you can experience every day in Saalbach-Hinterglemm sounds very simple: take a handful of mountains, spice them up with a handful of friends, mix them with sporting activities and the result is unforgettable moments. First and foremost, there are the 270 downhill kilometers. In summer, the mountain world is transformed into a mountain bike Eldorado that attracts bikers from near and far – other ingredients that make this mixture so unique. With a total of 80 kilometers to ride and the merger with the regions of Leogang and Fieberbrunn, this is thus the largest bike region in Austria. Hikers will also find everything their heart desires here, from wildly romantic trails to challenging routes. A total of 400 kilometers of marked hiking trails wind through the region. By the way, one of the most beautiful hikes is the “Home of Lässig” walk – a long-distance hike of 22 kilometers. You will climb 5 peaks and cover 1,700 meters in altitude. And finally, the mixture is refined with the unique hospitality of the local people. With the scent of freedom. With the easy-going, alpine lifestyle. And with the longing for adventure, which can be satisfied here in the twinkling of an eye.
