WHAT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR

Sporty, close to nature and incredibly casual. This is Saalbach Hinterglemm as we know and love it. It’s no wonder that the smart sports resort was chosen to host the 2025 World Ski Championships. On October 3, 2020, the decision was made and Saalbach Hinterglemm went into a frenzy of happiness. The road was long, the concept well thought out and the initiators successful: the long experience as a venue for winter sports competitions was convincing. Saalbach Hinterglemm has more than once demonstrated skill when it comes to sporting events.

WORK IN PROGRESS

The normal skiing hustle and bustle still prevails on the slopes in Hinterglemm. But soon, international ski stars will be shaking hands – or ski poles – on the Zwölferkogel. According to the motto “One mountain – all competitions” all disciplines will be held at the same place and with only one finish area. This facilitates coordination and brings all fans together.

Until the starting signal is given, a few smaller infrastructure projects are still pending: Such as moderate slope adjustments at the Zwölferkogel will be implemented and the Limberglift in Saalbach will be renewed. Otherwise, the landscape will be interfered with as little as possible, because the entire World Ski Championships in Saalbach Hinterglemm are all about sustainability. The “Home of Lässig” is also a “Home of Nature”.
