Rudi writes …an “almost century winter” comes to an end.
Wonderful piste and weather conditions made the hearts of all winter sports enthusiasts beat faster this year! The optimal deep-winter conditions in our SkiCircus SHL gave us good capacity utilization and many satisfied guests. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our friends and regular guests for their loyalty – and all our new guests for the trust they have placed in us!
I dare say that we at Barbarahof have the privilege of hosting some of the best audiences in the entire valley. Namely people with class, who have their heart in the right place. There’s nothing better for a host than to part at the end of a week’s vacation like a big family!
Many a guest will have noticed a shift in the areas of responsibility at Barbarahof. We are trying to initiate a smooth transition to the next generation of management within the family. The junior manager’s son Roland and his wife Katrin are a great help to me and do an excellent job in the reception and booking area. Many thanks to both of you!
I would also like to say “thank you” to my Elfriede, the good soul of the house. Thank you for having my back. This means I can relax and organize my weekly events at the hotel.
First and foremost, the sporty ski safari on Tuesday. Fortunately, we didn’t have any accidents and all our guests returned to the hotel safe and sound. Every safari is basically always the same and yet I am amazed that every safari is “the best ever”. This can only have something to do with the “beary guests” ☺ .
The romantic torchlight walk always takes place on Wednesdays and I am delighted when groups (usually between around seven and twenty people) turn up to accept my invitation to take an evening stroll. As we trudge through fields of snow, spiritual thoughts often give rise to funny stories, and one lady even thanked us once for the “interesting” event. I was happy about it, but couldn’t help smiling a little ☺ .
The garage party, which is popular with all guests, takes place every Thursday. Sometimes I have to do a balancing act with my Elfriede when it’s already dark outside – and the soup is getting cold in the kitchen. I then try to calm her down and offer to swap roles … which she then gratefully declines (fortunately) ☺.
I / we are very happy to accept the many positive hotel reviews. We can only satisfy our guests if everyone in the team pulls together and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff in the kitchen, service and on the floor for the harmonious working atmosphere! An extra greeting goes to Sophie and Daniel (both from Saalbach and Hinterglemm respectively), who always show good will and enjoy their work!
We all love our profession and our guests, and true to my motto, our aim is: … “the satisfied and returning guest”!
As we men are curious by nature, I couldn’t wait to get there and drove to Fieberbrunn with my friend Sepp Geisler on March 12 in glorious sunshine to get to know the “best hidden ski area in the Alps”. Sepp and I couldn’t stop raving about it. Although we know that there are always supporters of innovations and people who disagree. After crossing the border, three more snowy and snow-sure north-facing slopes, light larch forests through which the freeriders scurry and Tyrolean flair in the friendly mountain huts await us! The ski area development with the “TirolS” will be a gain for both valleys and I am already looking forward to our “first joint ski safari” in December 2015 in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn!
With this in mind, I wish you a peaceful and relaxed Holy Week, in which there should be time for thoughts about peace and joy all over the world, as well as a beautiful Easter with everything that goes with it.
Best wishes from us in Saalbach.
Looking forward to a happy reunion
Your Rudi!
